InHeartSound is my solo project. In pursuit for music that I love to immerse my self into I ended up creating songs of my own.

Creation process

After letting go expectations for the end result and rediscovering the pure joy of playing around with music, I began to create music in a totally new way for me. In past my creation process was very mind oriented. As I began to learn more about myself, energies and creation process in general, my mind was left behind more and more.

janneToday, the creation process is very joyful and effortless. I take time for daydreaming every day and that is where the creation begins. Daydreaming is the base of creation – playing with potentials. In what form or shape the creation manifests doesn’t matter. It can be in a form of music, art, work, walk in a forest, playing with kids – whatever. When the energy of the creation comes to me, I feel its presence. It is like waiting for Santa clause as a child ;). At that point, my mind usually doesn’t understand what it is about. I just feel the mood, some times the characters or the locations of the song. I take my guitar, recording device and start breathing and playing with the energy. Usually the chords and melody comes first. I don’t care how my voice sounds like or what I am singing. I just play without caring for limits, shapes or boundaries.

Then I let go. I have recorded something and maybe someday I’ll continue. I stay open for the energy and when it comes close again I continue right away. Usually it is then time for lyrics. I play guitar, and sing verse after verse. Sometimes I write the lyrics down without playing or singing at all. When I’m writing my mind doesn’t know what comes next and the words come from the feeling rather than from the process of my mind. After writing every verse and reading thru the lyrics for the first time, I’m usually surprised how solid the story is.

Then it is time for the arrangement and recording. Most of the time is spend on trying to express the energy of the song via singing and playing. This fine-tuning is guided by the feeling of how close the end result is to the energy of the song. Main limitation so far has been my technical skills, since I haven’t been keen on training, but at this point I’m well motivated. Song can be complete within weekend or it might take a year like it did with “luovan voiman kantaja” song.
